Who is obligated to complete the Violence Workshop?
Anyone seeking a teaching certificate must undergo this training, also known as SAVE.
Who is obligated to complete the Child Abuse Workshop?
Occupations in Education, Healthcare, Counseling / Therapy, Law Enforcement, and others that work with children require the Child Abuse Workshop (Mandated Reporter Training).
Our NEW Child Abuse course meets the updated NYSED Mandated Reporter Training Requirements (Chapter 56 of the Laws of 2021 amended Social Services Law § 413).
Who is the DASA training for and what does it cover?
Individuals must complete the Dignity for All Students Act (DASA) training workshop for educator certification in New York State. The training addresses harassment, bullying, and discrimination prevention and intervention in schools. If you are applying to become a teacher in New York, you must complete this course. It is a one-time requirement and proof of completion must be submitted to the NYSED.
Who requires the Autism Workshop?
Individuals who pursue special education certificates are required to complete coursework or training in the needs of children with Autism.
Who must take the Infection Control training and what does it cover?
All medical personnel in the State of New York. The course covers infection control and barrier precautions, including engineering and work controls to prevent the transmission of human immunodeficiency virus (HIV) and the hepatitis b virus (HBV) in the course of professional practice, every four years according to Section 6505-b of the Education Law.
You must attest to having completed this requirement to the State Education Department on your first licensure/registration application and at every subsequent registration.
All physicians, physician assistants, and specialist assistants must complete course work or training in accordance with Section 239 of the Public Health Law at the time of their initial licensure/registration and every four years thereafter.
